AT: Penguinkissus

Art trade with !

A bit of a backstory to this; early this February, a close childhood friend who I grew up with passed away due to a terminal illness he had. It was not an easy week at all.  When I started this art trade, I picked this character because she appeared to have a sense of coziness and comfort, and drawing her was really therapeutic for the circumstances! So this drawing was meant to invoke as much of a sense of warmth and coziness as possible :3

This was an interesting character aside from her comfy look, but also all the brown tones. It was challenging figuring out how to work them together with a background. The sweater was also fun to shade all the folds x) I can see my style adjusting and that I'm seeing colors a lot differently than I have last year.  I look forward to what this year will bring to my work! o wo9
